Event Details

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) in partnership with the Regional Arts & Culture Council presents a Presentation on Resources, Support and Fundraising tools for artists and small and emerging arts organizations.

 

Program Officer for External Affairs and Fiscal Sponsorship Eleanor Whitney from Artspire, a project of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)  will present on Artspire/NYFA’s fundraising and support programs available nationwide for artists in all disciplines at every stage in their careers.

 

The presentation is geared for individual artists and organizations across all disciplines and will cover Artspire/NYFA's extensive fundraising and support programs. Visual, performing, literary artists and filmmakers are all encouraged to attend.

NYFA is also providing participants the opportunity to sign up in advance for an Artpsire One-On-One mini-consulting session. These sessions give artists an opportunity to meet one-on-one for 10 minutes with Eleanor Whitney, to discuss how to meet a specific professional goal.

 

Participants may

  • Bring a grant, fiscal sponsorship, or residency application, or project proposal for review and feedback;
  • Use the session to brainstorm and discover where to find additional resources and opportunities for a specific project or
  • Discuss next steps for achieving their goal.

Artspire One-On-One mini-consulting sessions are $10 for 10 minutes. Artspire is a program of the New York Foundation for the Arts and artists may register through the NYFA website here: http://events.nyfa.org/events/course_list_cat.cfm?cat=48

  

Bio: Eleanor Whitney is a Program Officer for External Affairs at the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) where she works to connect artists to NYFA’s extensive services and resources. She also provides technical assistance and fundraising support to artists in the NYFA’s Artspire Fiscal Sponsorship program. Prior to NYFA she worked at the Rubin Museum of Art, where she was the Coordinator of Educational Resources and produced audio tours, videos, and interactive websites. Previously, she was the Academic Programs Coordinator at the Brooklyn Museum where she planned and implemented public programs for adults, taught university students in the museum’s galleries, and oversaw a professional development internship program for university students as well as academic outreach. She is pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at Baruch College’s School of Public Affairs and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Eugene Lang College with a concentration in Cultural Studies and Education. In addition, she plays guitar with an independent rock band and is a freelance writer.
